What is Adipex?
Adipex P is one of the brand names of the drug Phentermine, a very heavy duty, prescription only medication. It is a very effective appetite suppressant, which works on the hypothalamus area of the brain, which is the part responsible for hunger sensations.
So far so good, but the problem with it is the incredible amount of side effects from this amphetamine level medication.
How Does Adipex work?
Adipex suppresses the appetite and causes the body metabolism to speed up, thus burning off calories and leading to the body losing more weight. People who have been prescribed Adipex normally lose between three and five pounds a week in the early stages of their treatment.
Adipex side Effects
The list of side effects is very long, starting with insomnia, high blood pressure, and heart palpitations. To make matters worse, Adipex can and does stop working after a few weeks, seemingly of its own accord. There is also the risk of addiction with amphetamine based compounds.
Is Adipex worth trying?
Unless you can persuade a doctor to prescribe this medication to you the question is moot – you are just not going to be able to try this highly controlled medication. Many doctors are against prescribing Adipex because of the long list of side effects, and throughout Europe it is illegal to offer this item for sale without a medical prescription. If you do find a website that offers it, the chances are that it is a fraud.
If your doctor insists that Adipex is for you and if you can tolerate the side effects then the drug works very well, but always under the doctor’s supervision.
Since doctors are mainly declining to prescribe this medication, other products have come onto the market that provide a similar weight loss effect, but without the side effects – the most notable being Phen375.
Phen375 is a 100% natural version of the original Phentermine formulation and is a noted success in the weight loss field. Phen375 is an appetite suppressant and fat burner which works by synthesising key hormones in the body to achieve the same results as Adipex, but without the chemically induced side effects.
